An Open Letter to the LGBT

You are not an animal.

You are the pinnacle of God’s creation — the cherry on the ice cream, the icing on the cake. When God made the animals and the rest of creation, he saw that everything was good. But when He made mankind? Man, He said that it was very good! YOU ARE VERY GOOD!

God didn’t lift a finger when He created the universe. He didn’t move a muscle when He called the animals into existence. But you? He got His hands dirty with mud to craft you; He designed every part of you. He was probably whistling with delight in the cool of the day as He was making you. Take this: YOU have the fingerprint of God!

Not only that! He breathed on your nostrils to give you life.

Imagine: The lips of God touching your nostrils… Gently… Intimately… Lovingly…

When you breathed your first, He was so thrilled He couldn’t help but smile.

And if that is not enough to blow you away, brace yourself: You are created after God’s own image! You look exactly like Dad. How cool is that?!?

You are not an animal.

And no, you are not worse than the animals.

You are a creation of God— the loving God who is crazy about you; who longs for you; who watches you from afar, protecting you, making sure you’re safe and good; the loving God who is worried sick about you and is waiting for you to come home every single day.

Society may have reduced your sense of self-worth. Fear of judgment, rejection and condemnation may have forced you into hiding. But you know what? In God, you don’t need to hide. You don’t need to fear rejection. He loves you more than anyone will; He loves you more than you even love yourself.

Forgive us, Christians, if we may have misrepresented Christ in our words and actions. The Bible is not a book of judgment, but a factual love story of how a holy God loves and redeems a sinful world. Jesus is not a heartless ruler, but a loving Savior. In fact, if Jesus is in our world today, He will choose to hang out with you more than He would hang out with the religious bunch. Jesus loves your company! He loves you so much that He wants to hang out with you for all eternity! He loves us so much that He gave everything, including His life, so that we may be with Him forever!

All of us — whether gay or straight — need the same thing: Love. Sometimes, in our quest to find a truly satisfying love, we do foolish things, we draw from the wrong source, and we invest with the wrong person.

But the love of God will never disappoint. In Jesus, YOU ARE DEEPLY LOVED.

I pray that this love will win you over — the love that is greater than any human love; the only love that lasts forever. I pray that you will find and experience true freedom because of His love — not freedom to be who you want to be, but freedom to be who you are destined to be. I pray that in the end, we will all say, “true love wins!”

While there are many aspects to the subject surrounding this controversy, the only thing that you need to know and experience right now is the love of God. Let me be God’s instrument to tell you that He loves you, and He wants to be more intimate with you.

Could you breathe a simple prayer to let God speak to you now?

Thats true God is love but He is also the God to punish for those people doing evil. Because Jesus died for us just once and for all. No more Jesus died again for our sin. He will come back for the judgement.

    Hi,

First of all, I just want to say that I disagree on some of your knowledge about God. Yes, He is a loving God. He is a forgiving God. But there are exceptions to that. And you may find it by reading His holy words, the Bible. If you disobey His commands, commits sins…then, yes, there will be a corresponding punishment. I will give you some reminders from the Bible about homosexuality which God considers ABOMINATION..

Luke 6:22-23 (22) Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. (23) Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
–> such is how traditional Christians are now being viewed.

Leviticus 18:22 (22) Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman. Both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads
–> if homosexuality was ever good to any people, how could God ever say this?.

God’s character does not change. If we want, we can create for ourselves our own image of God in our own mind. But God has proven His character by what He has done in the past. If God is a loving God and He thought that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were beautiful people, I would expect for the Lord to have blessed them greatly. Being that the opposite outcome occurred, it then becomes obvious what God feels about Homosexuality. The good news is that although Homosexuality is a grievous sin, it is still only a sin. The blood of Jesus can cleanse all of us from everything. But to pretend that it is not a sin, is to lie to ourselves, to our family and to our society.

I hope this helps. I have known a homosexual man that came out of it and became a leading example of righteousness. The problem is the intellectual lie that somehow God has ordained some of us to be homosexual. I think we all have our weaknesses. For some of us it is greed for money or power. For others, laziness or immoral behaviors. Homosexuality is simply at the extreme of the immoral behaviors. We need to be intellectually honest about that. Those who fall into the trap of homosexuality are often kind people, but so are many adulterers, bank thieves, and child abusers. I once knew a child rapist who was outwardly very kind and excused his behavior by believing that feeding poor children justified the horrendous crimes of his passion. We all — all of us– need to turn to God, revere His holy name, and allow Him to tell us how to live and not try to tell God how we want to live.

    In Christ,
    Your concerned friend.

      Hello concerned friend :)

I completely agree with everything you said about homosexuality. If I will write a blog about my stand against homosexuality and same-sex marriage, I will write something along those lines too :) But I will explain the Leviticus text according to its historical particularity, and not sentence LGBT to death.

About the first part of your comment, I’m sure you meant that God hates sin, it is abominable to Him. I also agree to that. God is loving all the time; His love endures forever; even when we were sinners, Jesus died for us. He excludes no one from His love, and His forgiveness is available to all out of the abundance of His grace. Even in His holy wrath and judgment against sin, His motivation is still love — to redeem the world He created, to give justice to the oppressed and to grant eternal rest to those who love Him and kept His commands.

I appreciate your comment. I’m thankful for Christians like you who are passionate about God and are hurt when God is being mocked. Let’s pray together that all this furor will finally end, that the truth about the gospel of Christ will lead all LGBT to repentance and will submit to His lordship, and that the church that Christ built will be strengthened in the faith.

      God bless you :)

What do you think?
